Have you ever walked through a building or compound’s security check and thought about how you felt on the other side? If you take the time to consider it you will likely realize that you felt quite safe. This is a natural reaction because unlike the outside world, you were in an area where the only people with weapons were those that were there to protect you.

This feeling of security can be easily created in any office building, school, apartment complex, or other confined area. It is achieved by establishing one central entrance and exit point that is outfitted with metal detectors.

A metal detector uses the principles of electromagnetic induction to detect metal objects. Within the tool is a coil that, when introduced to a current, creates a magnetic field. Once this magnetic field comes in contact with a metal object such as a knife the tool is alerted to the presence of the metal.

There are two options when considering metal detectors, the walk through and the hand held. Walk through metal detectors offer quick and effective processing. They alert security officers to the presence of potentially dangerous metal objects such as guns, but allow for people to pass through quickly so as not to create inconvenience for those entering the building.

Hand held metal detectors are also effective and are a more affordable option. They offer easy to use protection and direct information regarding where the metal objects are located. In addition, the hand held metal detectors are effective in determining the presence of a weapon away from the security checkpoint. Ideally, the walk through and hand held will be used in conjunction with each other for maximum protection.

An additional effect of a metal detector is the deterrence factor. Once it is established that those desiring admittance will have to pass through a metal detector, hand held or otherwise, few people will attempt to bring in any source of weapon. This means that your building is removed from the list of potential targets. Because metal detectors are a preventative measure they stop the threat of an attack well before anyone can be injured.

When searching for a merchant that carries metal detectors it is important that you seek one who is reputable and provides quality products. A great place to look is at http://bljsselfdefense.com/index.php?target=categories&category_id=56. This company offers a wide variety of items, including metal detectors, and provides consumers with education on self defense. In addition to the online resources, BLJ’s Enterprises supplies its customers with personal attention to help ensure that they receive the self defense tool that is right for them.

Metal Detecting Morning Silvers – www.metaldetectorX.com – After finding that Walker, I had to get back to that place ASAP. I believe I have figured out why this place is producing silver coins well. A long time ago this place was the city dump. With 10+ trash targets per swing, this place is quite a challenge. To detect here I have to sweep the coil at the speed of a running ant. The second reason being, it’s next to a couple major highways. The noise from the roads makes it very hard to concentrate. Six months ago I would have ran from places like this. – neswiper

This Dig took place on Jan. 7, 2012 …. (Part One) This is not the property with the Old Vines that I was looking at the other day. That property has no buildings remaining, and is a site that I’ve been hunting since last year … I am thoroughly convinced, and ok with the fact that someone could devote an entire lifetime on some of these properties,.. hunt them from time to time and always find something there in that ground . After my initial Dig on the property in this video on New Years Eve, I went back a few days later to see what I could find . The living part of the back yard measures at about 300 feet back, off the rear of the Grand Old Home . The “Coin Spill” was discovered at about 600 feet behind the House …. It is the beginning of a wooded area which goes back for miles that hunters frequent from time to time. Up until that point, every Nickel Signal I detected, turned up only Shot Gun Shell Casings,.. so it was a nice surprise to finally see a 1964 Jefferson Nickel appear . After completing that dig, I was again surprised to see another signal appear just inches away from the first target. When I saw that it was also a coin, and found additional targets when I scanned the immediate area after retrieving the second coin, I knew that I probably had a “Coin Spill” on my hands,.. and the hunt was on . If you Dig,.. then you’ll know the feeling I’m talking about when you find yourself in a moment like this . You’ve already retrieved two coins inches apart, and …

Handheld Metal Scanners are designed to safeguard security-sensitive areas like our Airports. Therefore, we must ensure the safety of our airports and to prevent yet another 9/11 disaster. For this, we need to uplift security at airports. For this each person has to be scanned. This can effectively be done by Hand held detectors.

Primarily used by security agencies at defense installations only, handheld metal detectors can also be used at other places and events such as night clubs. Nightclubs are always in need of security. Any number of customers entering a night club could be carrying a knife or any object to inflict injury to another. Thus to ensure the safety of innocent people, each individual has to be scanned for illegal arms and ammunition with Hand held scanners.

Football games and other sporting events are comprised of wild fans that will do anything to prove their team is the best. Many a times we have seen a game turned bloody. This could be stopped by scanning all audiences with Hand held Scanners. Gyms, hospitals, and even birthday parties could lift up their security with a handheld metal detector.

Now days children have been able to access guns, knives and other harmful weapons and have become a danger not only to themselves but to their classmates in schools. In addition, criminals attempt to bring weapons into government facilities, banks, and retail stores. Thus to ensure the safe environment places we should go for Handheld Metal Detectors. By doing this we will be in a comfortable situation to stop miscreants to entering such places.

Hand Held Metal Scanners can also be used for recreational purposes. Searching for hidden metal items at the beach or in even in the park. Hand Held Scanners are just as accurate as x-rays in finding coins and other metallic objects swallowed by children. Hand Held Scanners are also used at construction sites to find dangerous nails or other metallic debris in building materials. They could be used alongside walk-through Metal Scanners.

Hand Held Metal Detectors are available in two variants:

Proscan Hand Held Metal Detector

Pro-Scan Hand Held Security Scanner is designed to meet the exact requirements of the security industry. Typical uses will include body search for offensive weapons in crowd control, airport and border security, checking parcels and letters for metal objects and anywhere that hidden metal needs to be detected. Pro-Scan Hand held Scanner operates on one 9-volt alkaline or rechargeable battery. The presence of metal will be indicated by an audio warning tone and a red light coming on. Proscan’s sensitivity varies between minimum of 2.5 inches to maximum of 11 inches.

Proscan-II Hand Held Metal Detector

It includes all the features of proscan handheld metal scanner with some additional features: Easier switching between high or low sensitivity modes. 20% larger scanning area, thereby providing you a edge over other Security Scanners

Hand Held Security Scanners are cheaper and radiation-free. Proscan Handheld Metal Scanners are lightweight, yet very rugged. The need for Hand Held Scanners is as essential now as it ever was.

Metal detecting is a captivating hobby. There aren’t many like it that can give you the same kind of excitement. However, way too many people go into this hobby without thinking it through and end up doing many things wrong. In this article, I’m going to speak on a few things that I think you should know before you venture into the land of coin collecting, relic research and treasure hunting – the path to becoming an elite at metal detecting. One thing that a lot of new metal detecting fanatics don’t think about is the law. Yes, there are restrictions governing the activity of metal detecting, such as where you can carry out this activity. For example, in many, if not all states, you cannot go hunting for metal in cemeteries. Naturally, you’ll want to check with your local laws, but I’d keep away from cemeteries. Most metal detecting forums won’t even allow you to discuss metal detecting in these prohibited locations.Next thing is identifying your treasure. Naturally, this is going to depend on what it is you’ve unearthed. For example, let’s for argument sake, say you’ve gone out searching for coins and you’ve found something that looks like an old 1927 nickel and you want to know it’s value in the condition that you’ve found it. In that case, you’re either going to need to get a coin collecting book or take it to an expert for appraisal. Yes, metal detecting goes off into other areas as well that you might not be so well experienced in. Be prepared.Additionally, this is another thing beginners don’t think about, there is cleaning your finds. I mean for crying out loud, you’re not going to leave the darn treasure in the condition that you found it, would you? Well, every metal needs to be cleaned in a different way. You’re not going to clean that 1927 nickel in the same fashion you’d clean a piece of gold. At least I hope you wouldn’t. So, you guessed it, you’re going to need several books on cleaning metals unless you can find one that covers it all…from nickels to whatever.Yes, metal detecting can be a lot of fun. It can also be a lot of work after the fact as well. There are rules and laws, mostly government made, that you have to be aware of and you certainly need to know what to do with your find after you’ve discovered it.In my signature, is a review of great resource that will help a lot.

Discover in 5 minutes how you can start finding treasure and enjoy doing it.

Metal Detecting a New Park with neswiper produces more Silver – www.metaldetectorx.com – It’s the same park that produced the legendary silver half dollar. Just as I suspected there were no more big silver discs in the area. Just my luck, I did not find the sweet spot of the place till near sunset. This area of the park produced the silver coin and the wheat penny. Once again we ran in to Metal Detector Bicycle Dude. We swapped a few more stories. We must have chatted for 20 minutes. Since …
