I head out with the purpose of scouting out different locations to detect. I come across some “Unexpected Finds” and I don’t have my detector! Just me, my camera and a small little rake that I keep in my backpack. Research and Recovery We’re advocates to the proper search methods of the hobby. Along with recovering history, we strive to preserve all artifacts for future generations. You may see us finding Civil War Relics, Native American Artifacts, Old Silver Coins, or even Fossils out on the beach. Wherever you may find us, you’ll definitely in store for a great show! Out metal detecting in the woods again and this time I found my 1st ever half dollar and its silver!!!

08/02/09 – Silvergurl and I went out in the morning metal detecting but we didn’t find anything so we went to go see an old steam locomotive that was gonna pass buy us (my train video). Then Twistidd asked if we wanted to hunt a little bit longer at the old school site. So we all went over there for a few hours and this is what we found.

I spent the last month metal detecting my neighbor’s front yard and the old stone walls that run through the back woods. At the base of the big old tree in the front yard, where I found the 1818 Large Cent, I found a very old spoon. It was about 8 inches deep. I also found a musket ball not far from the spoon. Along the driveway, I dug a shallow target that turned out to be a New Hampshire Public Works & Highways token. On the other side of the driveway I dug a 1917 Wheat Cent and a gold plated flat button. While detecting along the old stonewalls, I got a shallow signal, and when I dug down I saw an old milk glass bottle. The jar was embossed and read: “Regstd Trade Mark Mentholatum Yucca Co. Wichita Kan”. As I was digging around, I found another embossed jar that read, “Chas M. Higgins & Co. 3 oz. Brooklyn, NY”. I will try to get back there and see if I can find some more old bottles soon. Thanks for watching everyone, and HH.

Hurricane Bill stirred up the Sands at the beachs of OCmd. Leaving Thousands of Coins, Rings and just a little bit of everything to be found. Scooping 23 Rings, 7 Gold Rings & 4 Silver with other Treasures in 5 days {apx 35 Hours}.
