neswiper Metal Detecting That Gold – www.metaldetectorX.com – Another “Hail Mary” 20 Minute Metal Detecting Hunt Produces Gold! Interesting note about the digital Minelab metal detectors and thin gold chains – I would have never found this chain without the horse being attached to it. The chain alone barely reads 12-01 on the Etrac. The Minelab X-Terra 305 will barely read it as iron – 4. The Tesoro gets a banging signal on this chain. As serious as I am about digging gold, I may have to formulate a new plan. The new plan being Clean places out of their high conductive reading targets with E-TRAC, and then come back later with a single higher frequency (12khz) machine. That’s right, I may have to put a 10 inch coil on the Tesoro Compadre and go to town. Of course, after converting the hard wired cord to universal 4 pin to accomidate bigger Tesoro coils. It’s no secret that the E-TRAC and other digital based Minelab land machines are a plenty shy on getting those thin gold chains. The Tesoro Compadre with a ten inch concentric will bang on these thin gold items with the disc knob set well above foil. – neswiper
