Metal Detecting a New Park – This park was a little too modern, but, it did produce some interesting finds. Mrs. Swiper’s finds are getting better and more often than mine. I am not intimidated. However, I am going on a strict diet of dig almost everything. We’re going to have some fun. While I was running all metal today sailing through brilliant iron signals at 8+ inches, I wondered to myself, “what is down there?”. There are no nails down there, the nearest house is a half mile away. We’re going to find out. There are rough lands in that park begging for a shovel. Another thought, it’s not like we are going to cash in our silver coins for money, maybe there are some ferrous objects worthy of memory and praise. Maybe those people that dig EVERYTHING (or so they say) have it all figured out. Sure the iron is everywhere, but, I’ve seen some pretty sweet iron signals I have passed up. The one with the solid 8 inches, stable is all directions and lifting the coil telling you it’s not that big. Nails will and spikes will chirp non ferrous, I am talking about these true items that make one wonder. Time to get the shovel. There has to be many iron items worthy of interest. Plan on an iron only episode in the future. Here is our biggest problem. Our trowel is too small and we need a small but sturdy spade for the out of the public eye badlands. Maximizing the time and moving on has to be the best way to get to the treasure sooner. It’s also time to get a human camera mount. I
