Great vid! Lots of personal items that, as you say, has a story. This is what I like about detecting! Its nice to find something worth a lot but a lot more intresting imagining who it belonged to and who was the last person to touch it until you dig it up!

Tienes mucha suerte por poder disfrutar de una afición que en España esta muy penalizada y al parecer, aqui somos europeos de segunda ya que según las autoridades actuales se destruye el patrimonio con un detector.

I’d love to get into detecting. I live in the devon/cornwall area so I suppose there must be a number of sites (though not too many roman) locally. Thanks for the information. Happy searching.

    Sigh,

I wish I lived in Europe,
Canada is such a new nation that the metal history is just not everywhere like overseas. Our primary finds are probably coins/modern jewellery, nothing like your treasures!
As an individual who is interested in the past-time this video is top notch! Cheers.

Your in better conditions than I. Middle 19th century is the latest anything can be found around here. Although French traders were in my area and it’s not to uncommon to find French trading beads.

  25. Omnious24 says:

Being an American metal detector guy my eyes popped when you said “This is a 13th century buckle”. LOL. For us, finding something colonial in any condition is reason to jump for joy. Even 1800′s is amazing. At least I’m east coast where it’s possible to get some of the oldest stuff
